Justine, you don't say what you are going to use your
rod for but a 9'6" SPL 8 wt has steelhead written all
over it for me. So I would have a weight forward floating
line on one spool and a Teeny sink tip on the other spool.
Which sink tip (100, 200, ect) depends on where you fish.
Cortland is probably as good as any for the floating line.
I use Cortland and have only been disappointed once and that
was on a sink tip. My friendly fly shop replaced it. As
usual YMMV.
