Fished Agate Passage, Miller Bay and Pt. Jefferson Sept. 12 - 14 with mixed
success. The silvers haven't shown in numbers in Agate Pass area yet. I
caught some SRC's in Miller Bay. The water was cloudy and full of floatsam,
making condition less than optimal.

The surprise was the number of fish at Pt. Jefferson, they were thick. Both
SRC's and Silvers roam from the beach to the rip. Unfortunately, I could
get them to follow the fly, but couldn't get them to eat it. I was only
able to land 2 silvers and 5 SRC's. They would follow the fly right to the
boat and then leave.

There were no beach fisherman there. I don't know why. Perhaps there is
private property sign that isn't visible from the water. It looks like an
ideal spot. A high bluff blocks all of the north wind. A paved road leads
right down to the beach with ample parking. The fisherman I saw were using
the public dock. At the most, it had 3 people fishing off of it. SRC and
Silvers were jumping not 10 feet from the beach line. If it weren't for the
number of submerged rocks in the area, I would have spent most of my time
casting into the beach.

Per the regulations, Area 10 closes today (9/15) salmon. It re-opens 10/1.
That still offers the SRC.

Mike
