Greetings Anglers!
I've been lurking on this list for some time, but have never gotten
around to introducing myself and since I have a burning question, I'm
taking the plunge. About me: Moved from Boise, ID to Seattle about 6
years ago. Been flyfishing for about 10 years. I call the Yak my home
waters but have been recently venturing into more of the smaller,
"notellum" streams of this state. Been fishing for mostly trout but 16
months ago began to pursue salmon (horray for the Chum!) and steelies.
Now, thanks to the inspiration of many of you on this list, I've been
out a number of times casting from the shore for coho/sea-runs/etc. Now
to my question: What sort of retrieves are you fellas using in the salt?
I've read about the 2-handed, but this seems a unnatural/uncomfortable
action. Are short, jerky retrieves better than long, smooth pulls? Can
anyone offer guidelines?

OK, thanks
