Adding to the litany of bad fishing reports (c'mon, guys gimme a break, will ya; I was just trying to stir up a little interest...): Fished Kayak Point (on Port Susan) yesterday on the mid-day flood tide. Not so much as a tug and only a couple of fish seen jumping the entire 4 hours or so I was on the water. Apparently there were a few fish taken early in the day by the gear fishers on the point and also a couple picked up around noon on the pier, but slow, slow, slow in general. No bait, no birds and one lonely seal (briefly). Word was there was pretty decent fishing earlier in the week, but that in general it's been spotty at best. There were a fair number of trailers in the lot but only one or two boats fishing in the area. (I suspect that most of the boats that put in here are running down south toward Mukilteo or maybe up around into Saratoga Passage.) On the way back to Seattle I stopped by Mukilteo. Lots of boats, parking lot full of trailers and a slew of gear slingers on the beach and rocks, but very few fish seen. Most of the boats were clustered well south, down towards Shipwreck (the southern boundary of Area 8-2), which suggests the bulk of the run may be more down into the Seattle area (which, of course, is closed). -Wes Wes Neuenschwander Seattle, WA [EMAIL PROTECTED]
