Fished Alki Point, Point Jefferson and Agate Passage today for SRC. I had
little luck at the first 2 locations, but the Pass was productive for SRC's
and other sundry fish. I did notice that coho were staring to pool up in
the SW flat below the bridge. I tried something new today which was very
productive at getting the line down. I read about LC 13 shooting heads on
Dan Blanton's page and decided to give one a try. I rigged a 27' head of LC
13 to 60' of Gudebrod shooting line. This put the fly right down on the
bottom. I lost a couple of flies to rocks 15' down. Putting the fly down
with the fish really increased my number of hook ups and I was hooking
larger fish. Several SRC brought to the boat were over 20". This system
really isn't that difficult to cast and with practice, 80' casts were the
norm with a 7 wght.

Mike
