Wednesday morning I caught and released my largest resident trout ever 
during over forty years of fly fishing the central Puget Sound area lakes- 
and of all places, from Pine Lake , on the crowded Sammamish Plateau. The 
bright rainbow was a bit over 24 inches long and broad shouldered. It put up 
a scrappy battle with several long, scorching runs. I was using an 
intermediate line,long 5x leader, and a #12 olive bugger. Apparently, the 
WDFW put a few broodstock in the lake earlier this fall, but this fish was 
certainly not sluggish, so I'm thinking it might have been a carryover. 
Anyway, it was a blast to catch and it was my only trout that morning.
