A little rain can make a big difference on the river as I found out this
weekend. Between Friday afternoon and Sunday evening the fish were feeling
aggresive. I actually caught my largest Coho pushing twenty pounds today
with 8 more of his buddies to follow all with text book upper lip hook ups.
The real excitement were the 2 steelies I punched on my card Friday and the
2 I punched today, releasing 6 more right in front of a group of inquisitive
non rod bending participants.Several of the fish, both species, were very
bright to my surprise, there were a couple real dark Coho with big snouts
too. You could actually watch the fish on the march up river in pods. I
think the ones moving into the area were Chums. What a sight. This could be
in the top five days on the river for steelies and Coho. I used the fly I
wrote about a couple of weeks ago on this list with practically non stop
action today. Bring on the rain!

Tight lines,
Patrick
