Wes, Tim, and I (all participants on this list) a fishin' went on Saturday
morning. We visited the Stilly, and like Mr. Petersen's findings,
discovered steelhead that were actually 'biters'! I hooked a big un right
away that did what he wanted to do for a couple of minutes before breaking
me off on a snag. Wes not long after caught the first fish, a 6+ pound
chunky hook nose coho. We had numerous bites and hookups during the course
of the day. The bite action seemed to come in flurries, but really was
relatively steady all day. We lost several more fish (of course, Tim
claimed the largest one, which, again of course, broke him off - but that's
Tim). <grin> Final tally: we went home with 4 steelhead, each fish
averaging 8 +/- pounds, and probably lost (break offs, coming unbuttoned,
straightened hook, broken hook, etc.) another 6 or so (we quite counting).
Great fun on 6 weights!

Get out, they're in!
