Hey Matthew,
I wasn't with these guys on Saturday but managed my 2nd and 3rd
steelhead of the year as well as one coho and two chums. As far as
access goes if you want to fish the uppper river you need to at least
drive 20 minutes past Arlington. Once you are up that far you should see
mumerous places to pull off on the road with decent river access. There
are also a ton of small roads you can drive down and find access but I
will let you find those on your own :).
I have never found the lower north fork to be that inviting to the
wading angler and that is why I always head upstream. Also the water is
a lot clearer the farther you get past deer creek and I like to fish
water I can see fish in.
