Thanks for the offer, John. I like the look of the blue earred but haven't
tried it yet. I picked up some Nature Spirit labeled "FTH Spey Hackle".
Looks like burned & dyed hen or schlappen, but pretty thick shafts (pretty
much need to be soaked or split to use) and about a third of the lot was
left too webby for a good spey. As for the arctic fox, seems like it would
be sturdy. Do you spin it (like between a dubbing loop) then wrap it like
hackle?? I'd be much obliged for some tips on that -- or whatever --
technique!

A new that guy was adrift on the silver price, but I am surprised at only
$20-30!  Guess I should check out ebay for materials. Have you bought off
there...and was the quality reasonable for the price?  Feel free to reply
direct if this is getting to tweakish for the masses!  Man, I hope I have
some fish stories to tell pretty soon. We'll see what the peninsula is like
this weekend.
