With the nice weather earlier in the week, spring fever finally hit. I made
my first fishing trip of the year to the Yakima River on Saturday along with
several dozen other fly fishermen. My first fish was a beautiful 19-inch
Rainbow who took my Stonefly nymph. I caught and released two more RB's in
the 12 to13 inch size (one on the Stonefly and the other on a bead-head
Pheasant Tail nymph). All three fish were caught during mid-day in the
lower canyon.

Early in the day it was very pleasant in the mid 50's. However, I finally
gave up around 4pm when the wind won the battle. It can only get better as
the water warms up.
