Good report, Charlie. I'm going to be back "home" in Fall City for several
weeks and will float the Yakima. I have been in good March Brown hatches,
(usually a #14) and have had few fish rise to them. 44 degree water doesn't
seem to bring fish up very well) We've done better using Hare's Ears prior
to and during the hatch. Also, the belly on those bugs is light colored and
not dark brown. That's the story on most adults. Slower water is also
where fish seem to hangout until the water temp warms up to around 50
degrees. Excited to get my new Clackacraft. The new inovation for 200l is
you can get your rods out of the way in transit. Can't be stepped on and
broken. GAWD do I like these RIO line makers over here. They are really
into designing lines. Saw the European Spey caster that put on a demo at
the International Sportsman's Show several years ago in Seattle at their
plant recently. He is working for RIO and was heading out, with owner, Jim
Vincent, to test a new line. These guys are really on top of it (and I have
no reason to pump RIO other than I like their lines) Sorry to hear your rod
broke. Replaced, or not, it makes a downer for the day for me. The delay
in getting it back etc. That's all I think about. You should see the
weighted, big ugly's they throw on the South Fork of the Snake! They'd
break your oar! Jere
