Just got back from Douglas Lake Ranch last night. Fished Minnie Lake for two days fishing was terrible. I have fished these lakes for many years now and this is the worst I have seen. Must have talked to 20 guys in the two days and most guys got zip and 3 or four guys got one or two fish on buggers not one fish reported caught on chironomids in the two days and they were coming off. Lake has turned and water is clear,temp. 46'.
I have fished in a lot worse wind and in much colder conditions,snow in fact, and have always caught fish but not this time. The 3 of us had 3 fish on in two days none landed , Had friends on the lake last week with the same results so I don't know whats going on up their,many just too many fish were netted out of the lake last winter or many they had a lot of winter kill don't know. Its been a tough cold spring in BC so if you are planning on going up I think I would wait few weeks.
