Ok, thanks to Leland for making me look at the tide table last night, I
dragged my butt out of bed to get some casts in before work this morning.

Hit the water about 6:45, tide had just started out, I couldnt see any
discernable tide lines at this point so I figured I would just dive in.

Scanned the water for a couple minutes and noticed some baitfish activity
maybe 40 yrds south of the point. So I started there.

The wind was light, the clouds were.. well my guess about perfect from what
Ive read, it was warm enough to fish in a t-shirt and just walking the beach
before work was reward enough. (Which is a good thing on this day, no fish)

As I began thinking about heading off the beach at 8am, I started to see the
water really change. All my casts had been drifting north, which is what I
would expect, but about 8 I noticed a river of debris running south at a
pretty good clip. It was filled with logs, kelp and of course trash. I
finally noticed it was also being pushed toward shore. when it came within
about 10 feet of the point the "river of debris" stopped dead in its tracks.
At that point I noticed some very predominant tide lines forming in the
water. Of course as I was heading off the beach.

Am I correct in thinking I got there too close to the slack tide? and
probably would have had better luck as the tide lines formed?

When I got to the beach the tide was at 9.39ft (Just starting to fall) at
8am as I left the tide was at 6.7, on its way to -2.5 at 12:30pm today.

Should I be aiming more for the middle of the incoming or outgoing tides?
Looks like Im going to have to get my boss in Fly-Fishing so He'll
understand.
