Hi Bill. Welcome to the list. I am sure you will enjoy your time spent reading
everyones fish tales.
The Naches is a somewhat sterile river so the trout that are in there do not grow to
be very big. This doesn't mean that you won't find some fun fishing. It has some
great pocket water and traditional pools.
My wifes family has a cabin up on the river so I have fished a bit from Gold Creek on
up. Prior to reaching Gold Creek, you will find a classic pocket water run that used
to be fly fishing only though last time I went by the signs were all down so I wonder
if it is general rules now. Really, any place that has some good looking water will
hold some fish. A fun float might be from 3 Fingered Jacks resort down. I have done
this one a bit but it might be tough this time of year with the low water levels.
Lots of rocks in this river!
Your best info might be to call Garys Fly Shop in Yakima and inquire the best area's.
I really haven't fished it enough to give you exact details. I hope this little bit
of info helps.
Mike
