I have seen the discussion and flys on this site:
http://www.akflyfishers.org/ to be frequently quoted as a
good place to start. There are 2 places on this site for
flies: one is in "flyfishing in alaska"/"fly patterns" and
the other is under "fly of the month" the bottom of the page
has many patterns listed.
