Just returned from the Bitterroot Valley in Montana where I spent a few days
with my family vacationing. I was able to spend Thursday afternoon fishing
the west fork of the Bitterroot River south of Darby. This stretch of river
is easy to wade. Not the best time to be on the river but I managed to land
3 small cutthroat (PMD's and Caddis). Two thunderstorms rolled through
while I was out and each time the action picked up significantly for about
15 minutes. Called it quits about 6:30 after a quiet day of fishing
(wishing I could have stayed for the evening hatch).
