Persnonally, I have never been more satisfied with RIO. The finish appears
to be harder, less sag, and the wt. of an 8wt line, is on the high end of
the 8wt. scale. With an RP rod, I would imagine this would flex your rod
appropriately, but that depends on your casting stroke also. These guys are
the little guy, which I have always supported, and they are working very
hard to move up the ladder. The owner, Jim Vincent, is a steelhead guru and
has designed some unique systems also. I just purchased a 15 ft type #3
sink, and it casts very well. He has married a bigger diameter floating
where it joins the sinking tip so that there is little hinge effect and a
nice loop can be formed. Jere
