That's where I should be, above Lewiston. I get so honed in on a fishery
that I tend to get tunnel vision. I have had such a great time on the South
Fork, avoiding the crowds and catching nice fish, and now I've run into the
dog days. Several trips with my specially designed, rubber legged hoppers,
and all I get are several large fish that take a look and then back down to
never be seen again. I did see, on my last float, one of the largest trout
I've seen in some time, porpoise out in a large flat. I had on, at the
time, a low rider, may emerger, and after seeing him out in front of me, I
looked the water over and saw some rusty colored, about a #14 mayfly
spinners on the water, but not many. I imagine they were the PMD like mays
they refer to as Pink Alberts over here. It was his only rise and I had
some distance to go and didn't want to get into going through the fly box
routine. I did mark the spot though. Jere
