I haven't stopped in Sportsman's Warehouse (yet), but I concur with your
comments Leland, and your sentiments are well-expressed (as they are
usually!).

I'm going to be interested to see what products that are 'price-protected'
that they are offering at a discount. Do you have any examples, off the top
of your head? think there is a misconception that Scientific Angler
products are price-protected. I recently attempted to purchase an Ultra3
fly line at a shop that carries SA products, but they didn't carry the
Ultra3 lines because that particular SA item is NOT price-protected. I
understand the Mastery stuff is.

We do need to keep the 'little' guys going. I really enjoy the stores here
in the Seattle area to the extent they have a good breadth of products and
have an extensive breadth of QUALITY fly tying products. I know that when I
go there they will have what I need.

It'll be interesting to see how things balance out. Who knows, if the
economy continues to stagnate, stores like Sportsmans' Warehouse could feel
the pinch of folks spending their $$ elsewhere for more staple items (though
other than food and maybe house payment, I don't think there is anything
more important on which to spend my dinero! <grin>) It's a relatively new
concept, and it will be interesting to see how it does.

Richard
