I have had several pairs of breathable waders, the Orvis Clearwater and Hodgeman. I
too had a few pinhole leaks with the Orvis waders, but easy to repair. They held up
well for 4 seasons until I waded into a barbed wire fence. So they have been retired.
The Hodgeman waders I have had for several years and they are great, with the
exception of the biggish feet. But they are a little heavier than the Orvis and I
always end up feeling clammy. I don't like neopreme as too hard to get on and off and
too clammy anyway. I use thick fleece pants under waders for cold weather. Works for
me and rarely get cold. Buddies have used Simms and Ronny waders with no problems. I
think the key is to get ones that fit properly. I am somewhat short in the leg and
bigger around so getting the proper fit was a problem. The Orvis line has many
options. Hope this helps.
