I will pitch in. Happy to contribute with significant food help. I'll have to think on the ideas...maybe come up with a theme, something like the "six best" idea that passed around last year?? Probably best-for-success (and your sanity) to keep it pretty simple. I really like the grab bag idea! Also...I have a couple of long portable tables (one 6', one 7') and some padded folding chairs I can haul over.

The Admiral (my wife Ann) has giving me the go ahead for another go and I would like to try for the end of March or possibly later. So I am making plans and request any ideas the list may have. Also, looking for any volunteers that can help me put this together. Here's what I have planned so far: 1) Potluck and BYOB.. Bring the SO and kids... I am sure my daughter will keep them more than entertained. Wife does daycare so there is enough to occupy the kids. Plus we have a few (too many) horses that I am sure the wife will go riding with those interested. Be forewarned- not responsible for any wheelies the horses decide to pull. 2) Tying one day followed by fishing the next (any suggestions on where to fish? I am thinking Doc's or maybe a river up North) 3) Raffle(s) 4) Casting...any certified folks out there? 5) A fly tying material swap 6) Story telling contest 7) ???? I know there are more ideas out there. 8) Grab bag fly tying contest... This is a lot of fun. Put a bunch of different materials in a bag, chose 5 things (without looking) and see who comes up with the most unique fly. I have seen some doosies...especially after a few drinks LOL! If you're worried about driving the distance, I have room available 2 couples or 4 individuals or there is plenty of parking for the folks with trailers/campers.. Looks to be a lot of fun. Will have more to follow.... we'll see how much interest this generates before I proceed.. Let me know what you think... John Abbott
