Hi Richard

You have a good point. At least I tie my own so it isn't like I had to go
out and buy a bunch of new flies.

But it get's worse. I guess I caught the steelhead where I lost
my fly box on Thursday. I came home for the weekend and went
back Sunday. Sunday evening I caught a steelhead well in excess
of 10 lbs. As I was lifting my new Reddington spey rod to land the
fish, the tip section absolutely exploded. Broke in 3 places. I was
able to land the fish hand over hand (he was played out buy that time).
Five fish in 4 days with a lost fly box and a broken rod. All in all
I think I came out ahead.

Unfortunately, it turned hot on Monday and the fishing slowed
to a crawl. I had a few half hearted pickups for the rest of the
week. Although I did have one evening of nice trout fishing.
I think this front that is coming through probably improved
steelhead fishing alot.

I drove over to the Fly Shop at Welches where I bought the Reddington
on Monday morning. Not only did they take care of returning the
Reddington, but they loaned me a Sage 9140 to use for the rest of the
trip. Try and get service like that from GI Joes.

I realize that they wouldn't lend a rod to everyone. I have done
business there for years and have made several guided trips with
them so they knew that I wouldn't throw their rod down and drive
the truck over it.

BTW they also handle St Croix rods and Tioga and Medalist reels
in addition to the top of the line stuff. Good people.
