I am also a truck guy. Living out here on the farm requires a 4wd vehicle as standard
equipment. If the County road won't kill ya, our drive way will, especially during
the Winter.

I have a 1994 Ford ext. cab that works great as a hunting and fishing platform. The
extend a cab area has the flip up seats so I have lots of storage room for my gear
during trips. It is also wide enough to hold my rod tubes. The gun rack makes for a
great rod carrier when I am on the river and want to just run down the road to the
next fishing hole and not break everything down.

If I had to, I could sleep in the front seat. The bed is plenty long too with the aid
of an air mattress. Getting too old for the ribbed metal bed in these things, lol.

My biggest investment I make each year towards my outdoor passions are the truck tires
I buy. Since I drive on mostly dirt, tackle mud and snow a lot and spend a lot of
time off road, they aggressive treads get my vote. No nasty highway commutes for me.

The only thing missing on my truck to make it perfect is a canopy. That would help
keep things secure and give me a roof for those rained out camping trips. I love the
bed boxes that people put in for all their gear but I use my truck bed all the time
and can't afford to give up the space.
