My first ever car which was only a few years ago, being 20 and all :), was a
an old beat up '86 Ford Tempo. What a piece of crap...I got stranded all
over W. Washington with that stupid thing. I was happy to see it go...

A year and a half ago I upgraded to a '95 Accord. It had low miles, was in
excellent shape and never let me down and I dont think it would ever have.

Last November though, I got into a head on collision with a full size Dodge
Ram van at about 25 mph. My beautiful Honda was totalled.

I downgraded to a '92 Explorer. What a stupid move...what a piece of crap.
I've put a new muffler on it, a new starter, battery, all the brakes are
being redone right now and it needs a new front end. Last time I ever buy a
car on my own.

I loved the Honda because it was so reliable, I was never worried about
being stranded somewhere. Plus it flew...Portland was short jaunt. I
remeber getting to Copalis from Everett in under 2 hours (Dont think the
accident was my fault because her insurance company accepted
responsibility). The Honda though wasnt exactly the greatest fishingmobile
as I always had to break down my rods, overnight stays out in
bum&#(($#nowhere were out of the question and it sure didnt like being
driven into Fortson and taken on logging roads. Plus there was really no
way to transport a pontoon boat or tow a boat.

I bought the Explorer because I wanted a fishingmobile but it has failed as
foremost, a fishing mobile NEEDS to be reliable. Last thing I want to do is
be stuck up on the Hwy to the Skeena hours from anywhere and anyone (the
very reason I didnt go this year). Beyond that though it makes a great
fishing mobile as it has tons of room for all my crap, I can leave up to
10.5 ft rods together when transporting, can stuff a fully inflated and
assembled Outcast Pac 8 in the back and can strap a Pac 900 to the top.
Plus I can sleep in it comfortably.

My longwinded two cents. :)
