Two years ago I was fishing the lower Stilly when confronted with two
extremely vicious canines, one a pit bull and the other a shep. At that time
I thought it might be wise to carry a pistol. However, on that day it was my
chest waders that saved me.

This summer near my home on Whidbey I crossed the beachfront of an owner
who threatened me with assault. He harassed me days later from his boat
as I beach fished. He was a beefy character twice me size. I have weakened
neck bones
and would not do well in any confrontation. Again I thought about a weapon.

Yuk,
