shooting heads and the factory tips (such as rio's
anadramous dredger and the 26' striper lines) are excellent casting and fishing
lines for offshore saltwater fishing. with the shooting heads, get rid of
the amnesia. get the rio intermediate running line, it handles well and
has little memory. they take a different casting stroke, but using water
loads makes things much easier (and safer). for the offshore rips and
banks, i'd be lost without these fast sinking heads. for the saltwater
fishing i do, i fish a lead-core head with the rio running line or i fish the
26' striper line by rio with the blueish clear running line (mostly either
the 250 or 350 grain heads).
