Today I broke out the belly boat and checked
to see if my belly still fit. So far so good. Packed my fly box with
various colors of wooly buggers and some nymphs. Loaded stuff in the van
and went to Kitsap Lake. After putting all my gear on and assembling my
pole I realized that I left my flybox on my flytying desk. So I
rifled through what was in the van (not much) and decided to put a red tag? on.(
red wool tail, peacock herl body brown collar ) and I trolled and fished this
one pattern for about an hour and a half. I saw no fish received no bites
and froze my buns. But all in all a nice day to be on the water. There was
a hatch coming off, the insect was about 3/8" long and white. I did not
notice a shuck but then I only saw about 5 hatch. Other than that the lake
was dead. One other guy was trolling in a boat but I have no idea how he
did.
