Well, in October work commitments kept me from doing any cast and blast
trips. With the warm weather the past week, decided to schedule one for
today. Well, it was to be blasting in the morning and casting in the
afternoon. So off, to the seeps for ducks in the morning and trout in the
afternoon.
Well, we got it backwards. Saw trout while we were carrying shotguns. And
while we were fishing saw lots of mallard drakes within gun range. Spent
about three hours in a float tube in 38 degree water. One nice rainbow on a
Camas Damsel. My friend was fishing with the little green fly, so the beta
test for the Camas Damsel continues as he didn't get any strikes. Might have
to start carrying three different fly patterns. Some midge activity
starting, but saw only one rise. Still haven't gotten to test that triangle
taper fly line, but it looks like I might have to get ready for bobber
fishing.
