Many so-called algea covered lakes are free and clear in the early
mornings but get covered as the day goes by and sunlight causes the
bloom. I haven't a clue if the lake you're speaking of is in this stage
or worse but you might check if you haven't already.  Probably a full 85
percent of the Carp I've caught on the fly was earlier in the day.
