Dave, I am with you on this one. Even though the sticker on my two cars might have actually added value. I have been told that the reason for the stickers was to make other non sportsmen users pay for the use of the state maintained parking lots: kayakers, rafters etc. Has anyone known this to be true? I have always thought that stickers that showed me as a hunter/fisher in a remote area would only make me a more likely target for a potential thief. That is the reason that I have always left the TU, and other fly fishing type stickers off my rig. No reason to let the possible thieves know what I am into was my theory. Anyone else have any thoughts. Just my .02 after a very long friday. Tight Lines Tom

Ironically I just finished taking my new license stuff out of the envelope after purchasing it online a couple of weeks ago. It has been sitting on my desk since then. The letter accompanying the license stuff states: "...Access Stewardship Decal - this sticker must be placed on the inside of your vehicle where it is clearly visible from the outside (on the dash or hanging from the rearview mirror). It may be transferred between two vehicles. Us a ballpoint pen to enter the license numbers of the vehicles in the space provided." I have been one of the quiet protesters of the sticker thingy since they introduced it. I was just not willing to put a sticker permanently onto my car, and I use two different vehicles. Sometimes I remembered my sticker and would place it in the rear window on the inside with a piece of tape. I may get laughed at on the river for the car I am sometimes fishing out of, a Black BMW 750iL. But I really have not had the nerve to stick a permanent sticker on it anywhere because some genious in Olympia came up with a plan to charge us money to access our own public property. I'm glad to see they finally figured out a way to accomplish that without requiring us to also deface our personal vehicles. Good change. -Dave ------------------------------------------------------- David Weitl mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Program Director Washington Volleyball Academy 3380 NE Rova Road Poulsbo, WA 98370 (360) 779-3802 (360) 779-1467 fax http://wvba.org "Much can be accomplished by teamwork when no one is concerned about who gets credit" - Coach John Wooden -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Brenden Portolese Sent: Friday, April 19, 2002 11:18 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Time for a New Fishing License! I interpreted it to be stuck on the additional "hang tag" paper that you stick your license to. I received 2 of the durable paper tags in the mail after ordering online, so it seemed logical. Then put it on your dashboard or hang it from a rearview mirror. Perhaps if you get your license in person, the clerk may not be aware/conscious enough to hand out the second "hang tag". -----Original Message----- From: Sean Grier [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, April 19, 2002 12:11 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: Time for a New Fishing License! Has anyone gotten a definitive answer as to how the access sticker is to be used. It doesn't make sense that they would put 2 lines on it to put license plate numbers, but then turn around and make you stick it on the back window like last year's, but I don't want to have it hanging from my rearview mirror and get a ticket because it wasn't "properly affixed". I don't mean to cast aspersions on your "gal at WDFW" Danny, but I don't think I could print your e-mail out and use it as my defense in court! ;-) Thanks in advance. FWIW, I've just put my license number on it and dropped it on the front dash in clear view. Hope I'm not setting myself up for a ticket on a technicality!
