I was going to go to the Yak today but the 4000 cfs flows in Ellensburg made me think twice and I decided to head to the sound instead. I fished the ebb in the Narrows from 12:30-3:30 and did OK, not quite as good as Saturday but I did get fish. The salmon were too far off shore hopping about when I got there and I figured I'd wait them out as the water dropped but by that time the fish were no where to be seen. Just before 2 p.m. I got into the cutts just off the kelp beds and found a good sized school of them in one spot where I had about 10 hits or follows to my feet, hooked up 4x and landed 2. The fish seemed to be doing a lot of short striking and following instead of hitting it hard though the 14" one I got slammed the fly. I had another nice fish follow right to my feet and spook off at the last second plus a lot of small ones following in. A #6 Olive Clousers was the fly of choice again today. About 2:30-2:45 the tide was getting just about right but a ton of weeds were floating in and I was getting gunked up on about every cast. I worked in clear areas for the next 1/2 hour or so but finally gave up.
