Title: Midrange fly rods
The VPS is tested and experienced; tough, durable, and casts well.  The owner of a competing top rated fly fishing rod company once told me the VPS was the best rod Sage made (this was in the RPL+, SP, SP+ days, pre-XP).

Winston's are beautiful, but I'm not a Winston kind of guy; however, I cast that Ibis, and it is a rocket.

Haven't cast the T&T.

Kent, of all the people on this list, why are you looking at paying $300+ for one rod?  What happened to you and the Heritage rods, anyway?  Can't you almost buy 4 of the Heritage sticks for the price of one of those on your list?

If you've had a chance to fish or compare any of these these rods, I'd sure appreciate your thoughts and impressions:

Winston Ibis ($295)

Thomas & Thomas XL2 (~$375)

Sage VPS (~$385)

Thanks,

Kent Lufkin
