I have heard that it is the intention to
close area 9 to all fishing during July. The reason stated for this is
there is no "model" for beach fishing. The information is available,
I know for the last 3 years straight I have seen the same fish counter at Point
no Point. I apologize as I have never asked his name. In addition
the Bremerton Sun routinely runs numbers of fish caught at salisbury point and
they do differentiate between shore and boat caught fish. The raw data is
available. I think the lack of a model is a lazy man's
excuse.
