I fished the sound in two places this week - up at Picnic Point on Tuesday since I had something else to do in Shoreline and at Kopachuck this morning. Got lots of small cutts at both spots, saw a few bigger ones way the heck out at Picnic Point but couldn't reach them. I got one rod-bender today at Kopachuck, a nice 15-16" fish that was pretty broad across the back, that was my best sea-run of the year so far. I've been using a #8 maribou Clousers since the fish seem to be running smaller this year for some reason.
Jay & I went to lower Nunally on Wednesday and did pretty well on top using adult damsels. There weren't a ton of fish rising but usually when you found one that came up a few times you could get him to take. We rose probably 30 fish between us, outright missed a lot, had a few break off, jump off, or weed us up and landed 15 of them. No biguns though, most seemed to be 17-19" fish, a few smaller, a few bigger. Jay got one brown, otherwise it was all rainbows for us.
