This may sound like a stupid question, but...

Could you all recommend clubs/groups/organizations that I might consider
joining in order to help foster better fishing regulations? ...

Thanks,

James

See, this works.
If you lock everyone in a room for a while after the defense and opinions
drain away folks start to create solutions to problems. I bet with a
whiteboard and a case of Single Malt we could build a whole fisheries
program for the state in less than a week.

I suggest everyone keep talking to DFW folk, not to try and change them but
rather to help them start moving a bit outside the comfort zone where they
can really come up with creative solutions for difficult problems. And of
course, we are all here to help.

Thinking out of the box? Try this one for size: Forget whatever run
of wild fish the Snoqualmie has. Accept it as an urban river with
many different user groups. Stock the bejeezus out of it with
hatchery steelhead and have a kill season, including bait Then also
have a catch and release selective fishery (barbless, any tackle)
season. In return, make another river, like the Skykomish totally
catch and release all year. Or something like that.

Leland.
