Hello All, It's that time of year again and the Third Annual Caddis for Kids Tie-A-Thon will take place Friday and Saturday, November 21st and 22nd at The Avid Angler in Lake Forest Park (206.362.4030). Donations are tax deductible to the highest extent allowable and benefit the uncompensated care program at Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center. Annually, millions of dollars are spent through this program assisting families throughout the Northwest.
Starting at noon on Friday, I will attempt to top last year's mark of 500 flies. Ending at noon on Saturday will mark the beginning of a new feature this year. Some of the greatest tyers in the Northwest will demonstrate their talents from 12:00 until about 3:00 or so. This panel includes Alec Jackson, Norm Norlander, Stu Farnham, Pat Bolton, Scott Howell, Mike Croft and The Avid Angler's very own Nathan Keen. Flies tied by these talented tyers will be framed and auctioned at a later date. Additionally, there will be a St. Croix rod given away at the conclusion of the event as well as possibly some other tackle items yet to be determined. In a recent development, there will also be a kid tying at Caddis for Kids: my very own Madison Johnson. Six year old Maddie has been tying for a little over a year and will be demonstrating her flashy Barbie Series of flies in addition to trying really hard to convince Norm that he needs to make her a Nor-Vise in Hot Pink to replace her Regal. Plegdes or donations can be made the days of the event at the shop or by email at [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thank you for taking the time to read this, the support and any contribution you may make. Best regards, Don Johnson ===== Not so new but still under construction: http://www.geocities.com/salmn8r/northwestcountryflies.html "Skues me while I sink my fly!"
