Well, this might not exactly match the question, as it wasn't my gift, but a
gift I built for a friend from church.  He's been needing a light stream
rod, so I built him an 8' 3wt 2pc on a Powell Legacy blank.  Turned out
quite nicely, and he had the proverbial ear-to-ear grin on Christmas
morning.  So now he's in the market for a matching reel and spare spool.

I'm bidding on a new pontoon boat on e-bay right now, so that will
(hopefully) be MY new Christmas toy...
