I also built up a rod for my Sister to give to her man. He is new to fly-fishing and lives just outside of Monroe. I built him a 8wt 9ft6inch steelhead rod for the Sky, along with other rivers over in that area. I told him he should get on the list and start learning from the best group of fly people in the state, but I don't know if his work allows him to have any activity on the puter other than work related stuff.
As for me I received what seems to be (so far anyway) a very good book by Bob Arnold called Steelhead Water. Has anybody read it? Also, got a bag for my waiters and boots etc. and misc. rod building, and fly tying stuff. Beyond that I'm trying to figure out a way to skip out on work and get on the Deshutes river for the last few days of steelheading.
