Great report, I finally had the time to read the whole thing. My couple of times out have been much like your first few days, lots of hiking, good looking runs, but no hookups.. I've gone out several times for a weekend and come up fishless. It's interesting because i've talked with other fisherman out there that while they don't get steelhead they often get dollies, I never got any nor did any of my cohorts. I was surprised to read that you didn't get any either. One of the things I liked best about your report was how it imparted me with a sense of journey, and struggle that seems to embody steelheading. It was also great to read that you were rewarded for your hardwork. Evertime I've gone out, I've always felt that somehow I didn't work hard enough and that was why I never got a fish. ANyways, great report, glad you were rewarded.
