Their prices appear to be identical to the list prices on the Temple Fork web page.

A "lurker" finally speaks up...

With this current thread, I just wanted to share word about a company that
is currently running a sale on TFO rods, named Discount Fishing Tackle
<http://www.fortackle.com/>. (I have no vested interest, but I buy a lot of
gear there). They offer free shipping, are very fast, offer great customer
service, and have the least expensive flies I've found (since I don't tie
any myself).

Temple Fork Outfitters rods on sale:
Series One (two piece rods) $89.99
<http://www.discountfishinginc.com/Order/CategoryProductsStore.asp?CategoryS
ystemId=49&ParentCategorySystemId=11>

Professional series (4 and 6 piece rods) $139.99 - $149.99
<http://www.discountfishinginc.com/Order/CategoryProductsStore.asp?CategoryS
ystemId=51&ParentCategorySystemId=11>

TICR Series (top of the line 6 piece rods) $249.95
<http://www.discountfishinginc.com/Order/CategoryProductsStore.asp?CategoryS
ystemId=52&ParentCategorySystemId=11>

They also have a good, monthly "specials" newsletter, with prices or items
not otherwise shown on the website!
Hope this helps someone!

James,
I know you are looking at a 3wt, but here is what I know about TFO. I used a 8
wt professional series on a recent bonefish trip. I was very happy with the
way the rod performed, especially in 25 mph winds. Would I buy it again, you
bet.

Last fall on our trip to Cabo, my good friend Richard Embry used a 10 wt TiCR
and put some serious hurt on some large skipjacks. The TiCR series is a great
saltwater rod with excellent lifting power. He really enjoyed the rod also.

I think TFO is one of the best bangs for the buck in fly fishing. There no
fault warranty is $25.00. I wouldn't let the price of the rod sway your
decision. From what I've read and heard, the folks that run TFO have some
pretty deep pockets and are in this for the long haul. It was a real coup for
them to have Lefty Kreh join them in helping design their rods.
While I have Sage, Loomis and Orvis rods which I enjoy, I wouldn't hesitate to
buy another TFO.

Post this same question at www.danblanton.com and you will get lots of good
feedback on TFO rods.

Brian
