Saturday:

I headed over to explore the river along highway 10 for the first time. Man is that one gorgeous area. Especially now with a lot of green plants. I saw only one other fisherman, who was a ways above me, and never got within a couple of hundred yards. The wind was somewhere between tornado and a hurricane, pretty much had to wait in between gusts and thing water haul the fly back up stream. But the sun felt good. I found one area where there was a large submerged gravel bar that had about a dozen or so fish feeding/holding on it. I tried wading out above them and nymph things by them but no luck. It was neat though to watch them dart around. I ended up fishless. I decided that if I was having a no fish day, I'd head back early and stop by rattlesnake. It was windy on the lake, but not bad enough to stop me from tubing. I tried my normal thing, but only picked up one dinker. I tried trolling, but not luck, and I started to get cold. So I went back to the shore, waded in up to my thighs and started casting from shore. I was enjoying the casting so much that I ended up fishing/casting from shore for a hour or so. And I ended up catching two more fish before I had to pack it up and head home.

Sunday:

I decided to take a friend of mine out fishing in a canoe to rattlsnake for the day. We drove out and got as far as Issaquah when we drove into a huge rainstorm. We decided to grab lunch in Issaquah and see what would happen to the weather. It got better (sunny even) and we decided to continue on. We got up to the lake, pulled off the canoe and started loading up. It was sunny and we were about to get going, when huge rain clouds rolled in, neither of us brought waders, so we decided to sit int he car for a bit and see if the rain would pass, 20 minutes later it let up again, and we decided to make a dash to the water. We had about 5 - 10 minutes on the water when the rain came again so we dashed back to shore, and jumped in the car. It was then that the heavens opened up and it just dumped. We decided to call it a day, and waited for the next break, dashed out put the boat on, loaded our gear and drove back to Sunny seattle.

Monday:

Took my neglected dog swimming, went to the office for a little work, and then took my fiddle over to Folk Life and jammed at bluegrass hill.

All in all, a fun relaxing weekend.
