Good for you Jim - you're an example to us all. Thanks for your
efforts on behalf of our fish.

I was sad to see three guys come to their pickups last night with two really nice looking trout on a stringer. I confronted them about it and schooled them on the regs. These (sloping forehead) morons did exactly as would be expected by their sort: played dumb... wait, were they playing?
What they don't know is that I wrote down their license plate numbers and called the poaching hotline. I was told that the officer will run the plates and knock on their door. The officer is supposedly going to give me a followup phonecall to let me know the outcome. I'll post again if I get a callback to let y'all know what happened.
The phone number for the poaching hotline is 1-800-477-6224. It's open from 8 am to 5pm and you can leave a message after hours. I was glad to hear that they will actually confront the people after-the-fact by knocking on their door. I was afraid I'd hear "there's nothing we can do." That was a relief.
Let's not let those idiots ruin what I consider the best trout fishery on the West side of the state. Turn the b*st*rds in!!!
-tight lines all-
