I put my kayak in at Horsehead Bay
early this morning to go explore a bit and see if I could find some silvers. I
started at the south end of Kopachuck
State Park and found it
be be so infested with salad that I could barely fish. It seemed that all the
loose seaweed in the area was right there, fouling my line and fly. I did
manage a few cutts including one nice one before giving up. I then paddled out
to Green Point and worked quite a bit of it getting in fishing between battling
boat wake. I picked up a couple more cutts and had some follows and hits that
I missed but still no salmon. The boat traffic and heat picked up around 10
a.m. so I paddled back to the Bay and headed home.
