Josh,
As Bob Martin replied, Dave Vedder's calendar is pretty handy and
doesn't cost anything if you can get a copy of the Fishing Holes magazine
that contains his 2 page calendar. You can probably find a copy at the
library and it will only cost you 20 cents to make a copy of Vedder's
calendar. The calendar just doesn't change that much, so you don't need to
get an updated one every year.
For a more detailed fishing calendar, I recommend Chris Paulson's
"Fishin' Times" (The Month-by-Month Guide for Washington State: Where, When,
How). It is $8.95 and sold at most sporting goods stores and fly shops. It
is about 100 pages of information that is mainly targeted towards the gear
guys, but the information is still useful for us fly guys.
In my opinion, the $8.95 is money well spent to avoid having to
reinvent the wheel. Having said that, a version of "Fishin' Times" that was
targeted towards fly guys would be quite useful and you could probably sell
it in fly shops for $29.95 and we fly guys wouldn't blink an eye at that
price. :-)
Tight lines!
