I've finally become comfortable fishing in the winter, layers and wind
protection, of course, are the key:

O.R. Skull Cap
Thick Poly Long Johns (top & bottom)
Fleece Jacket (or two)
Goretex Shell
Thick fleece pants
Thick Fleece Socks
Breathable Waders
Fleece gloves with velcro foldover mitten and thumb
Thermos of Coffee

I just deal with the ice in my guides... clean 'em out with my hands when
they get bad.

Subject: Question: Cold weather preparations

Well now that I the setup to fish the winter runs, I'm curious as to what
sort of cold weather preparations do you all make on your gear.

E.g. The few times I went out last December the guides on my rod were
constantly freezing up, I heard that you can spray a little WD40 on them to
keep the guides free of ice.

I know that when I go lake fishing I make up a hot thermos of Gatorade to
keep the blood from freezing.

I'd be interested to hear what the rest of you do.
