Got a Cabelas gift certificate that will be redeemed for a new pack-rod.
Current packrod is a 4 piece TFO that I love, but Im looking for a seven piece rod now. Im finding that Im headed off the beaten path, and even the four piece is getting tangled more often than not. I see TFO has a 6piece 5wt for the same price as an Orvis 7piece... hmmmmmm)
Ive started doing some winter hiking and waypoint setting for possible Spring/Summer spots to hit.
I drove to Portland this last weekend, and made a mental note that I need to spend a week fishing the I-5 corridor between Seattle and Oregon. Lots of what looks like good water, and water you dont hear much about. (At least I dont hear much about it.) I put a star next to the Newaukam, looks pretty good at 70mph.
Ive finally rally'd the troops to spend a day this saturday. We are still debating the destination (suggestions?). Ill post a report when we are back. So far Rocky Ford seems to be the destination of choice.
