Spencer,

I just took proud ownership of this rod and have lined it with the Cortland Sylk line also. It is the double taper as this will be my dryfly rod.

It's a beautiful rod. Congrats!

Leland.

        Spencer,
I just test cast that particular rod (I also own it) with seven
different lines from Sage, Rio,and Cortland. The line I personally use is
the Cortland SYLK 4WF and the other line that I found to be exceptional is
the Cortland Presentation Taper 4WF line. Both of these lines will cast well
on this rod with from 5ft of line out to 35 ft. of line out or more and
shoot to tomorrow as much line as you can handle or fish. I liked the
Presentation Taper so much I am getting one to use with this rod as well as
the SYLK line.
I did not get to try any SA branded lines and the Rio Classic 4WF
actually weighed in at the 5wt grain weight level when measured on an
electronic grain scale. Interestingly all the other lines of every
manufacturer including Rio weighed in dead-on the middle of the 4wt. Grain
weight range.
Also, none of the lines I tried did not work well with this rod, it
is just the above two worked like they had been designed for the rod.
        Regards,

Subject: line for winston biix

I am getting a winston biix 4 weight. I don't have a line for it yet and I
was wondering if any of you have this rod and what line you would recommend.
I am debating between the SA GPX and Rio Classic. What do you all recommend.

Thanks
Spencer
