I hit the South Fork this afternoon for a few hours and had about the same
experience. I got a lot of fish and a few in the 9-11" range, which was real
fun for my little 6' 3-weight bamboo rod. Everything came to a #16 Royal
Stimulator.

A friend and I went up on the middle fork yesterday and had a blast. Lots of
fish every where, once we identified what type of water they liked to hold
in you could pretty much count on fish. While there were lots of fish, you
still had to have drag free drifts, which gave it just enough challenge. We
used general attractors. Biggest fish of the day was 12", though I wasn't
there to actually verify my buddy's size estimate. Anyway water clarity was
amazing, wading was easy, fish were plentiful, weather was gorgeous. If you
want to catch 6 - 12 " fish on dry flies, or swinging wet flies, MF is a
great place to go. Though be careful when you set the hook, we accidentally
launched several fish :( sorry little buddies!
