Mark, we had a similarly good time on Saturday (last week) right out of town
- I caught the biggest coastal cutt in a river: 15"! At first I thought he
was a whitefish, since he stayed deep and dogged me down - but once I
started to get him close and he realized he was hooked, he did the normal
acrobatics and showed his colors.

Fished the overcast, rainy morning on the MF and the sunny, warm afternoon
on the SF. Picked up 8-9 on the MF (6-15", with a couple over 11"), and 5-6
on the SF (mostly whities to 12"). The river is still in great shape -
flows are reasonable and water's about 58º on the MF and about 60º on the
SF. The SF fish were cutts, whities, and 1 fat bow about 12" in a fast,
deep hole.

Lots of fun on the 2wt noodle!

Sean

A friend and I went up on the middle fork yesterday and had a blast. Lots of
fish every where, once we identified what type of water they liked to hold
in you could pretty much count on fish. While there were lots of fish, you
still had to have drag free drifts, which gave it just enough challenge. We
used general attractors. Biggest fish of the day was 12", though I wasn't
there to actually verify my buddy's size estimate. Anyway water clarity was
amazing, wading was easy, fish were plentiful, weather was gorgeous. If you
want to catch 6 - 12 " fish on dry flies, or swinging wet flies, MF is a
great place to go. Though be careful when you set the hook, we accidentally
launched several fish :( sorry little buddies!
